Volunteers

 

We are looking for volunteers to help with the running of this event, if you have the relevant RYA qualification or customer service experiance in events we would like to here from you. 

Safety Boat Skipper 

As a safety boat operator, you will have a RYA Powerboat 2 minimum certificate, own your own vessel and be able to crew at least 3 people onboard to support the organisers in the running of the competition. 

Tasks to be undertaken

  • Provide on water assistance to anglers and competition boats in the event of emergency

  • Ensure participants remain inside the fishing grounds/direct boats to change location if within 30mtrs of another competitor boat.

  • Provide First Aid to anglers

  • Marshal the event to observe adherence to the rules of the competition, i.e. maximum rods in use

Head Marshal

Working as part Competition Team, assisting the Marshals in the undertaking of their duties to ensure that the rules of the competition are being upheld, by all competitors are ambassadors are representing this Boat Angling Competition, and that good conduct, courtesy and consideration is show to other competitors, and everyone that they encounter throughout the course of the event.

Dealing with reports of inappropriate behaviour, cheating, intoxication or other disrespectful acts are reviewed and the appropriate action is taken in regard to penalties or disqualification.

Tasks to be undertaken

  • Assist the Safety boat operator in the event of emergency

  • Provide First Aid to anglers, and other volunteers

  • Support the other Marshal and direct them to observe adherence to the rules of the competition, i.e. maximum rods in use, reports of inappropriate behaviour, dumping of litter.

Event Marshal - Water

Working as part of the crew on a safety boat. Assisting in providing support to participants, and the safety boat operator, you will have a first aid certificate minimum.

Tasks to be undertaken

  • Assist the Safety boat operator in the event of emergency

  • Provide First Aid to anglers

  • Marshal the event to observe adherence to the rules of the competition, i.e. maximum rods in use, reports of inappropriate behaviour, dumping of litter.

Event Marshal
- Land

Working as part of the event team providing support to participants and guests.

Tasks to be undertaken

  • Provide customer service to visitors to the opening event.

  • First Aid

  • Information to visitors and direction to facilities and entertainment locations

  • Marshal the events to ensure appropriate behaviour and conduct of the participants.

First Aid

Working as part of the event team providing first aid participants and guests.

Tasks to be undertaken

  • Provide customer service to visitors to the opening event.

  • First Aid

Event Photographer

Working as part of the event team taking photos during the opening event for facebook. Capturing action photos and recording video during the competition from the safety boats for uploading to facebook. 

Photographing the winners and Recording the Trophy and prize ceremony

Vistor Support

Working as part of the event team helping participants, and visitors with directions to meeting points, facilities.

Meet and Greet

  • Issuing the participants score cards, and ID badges

  • Handing out gift bags

  • Collecting signed disclaimers

Catch Auditor

Working as part of the Competition Team verifing the uploaded catch photos, checking measurements and administration of the App

Knowledge of Fish type is needed to ensure that the uploads are correctly recorded in the system. 

  • Checking Skippers Record Card against uploaded entries to ensure failed uploads are processed.

  • Checking Upload and Catch Times for the Biggest fish of each species

  • Verifiying or rejected uploads in accordance with the event rules for catch and release

Catch Adjudicator

Working as part of the Competition Team verifying the uploaded catch photos, checking measurements and administration of the App

Knowledge of Fish type is needed to ensure that the uploads are correctly recorded in the system. 

  • Dealing with disputes relating to the uploads. 

  • Ensuring that rejected uploads due to rules breach has been processed

  • Issuing of any penalty point to the participants totals.

  • Assisting the Auditing team in Checking Upload and Catch Times for the Biggest fish of each species

  • Dealing with upload queries from the Auditors,
